The non-stick coating was failing after nine months of use. It did not provide a non-stick surface anymore. The egg would stick to the pan surface if it was fried with butter. I filed a claim for failure of the pan on Calphalon's website since there was a lifetime warranty. After inspection by Calphalon, either the original pan would be returned or a new one would be shipped. I shipped the pan back over three months ago, but never heard from Calphalon. The same response is given when an email questions the resolution of my claim. I can't get a response from Calphalon because I no longer have my fry pan, and I'm out of pocket on the return shipping. We have been without a fry pan for over three months and have bought a different brand, but have been very pleased with how it is performing. Don't waste your time and money returning a problem to Calphalon if you ever have one, just be aware, if you ever have a problem, don't waste your time and money. You will get the same result if you throw it in a black hole. Better yet, buy a different brand.

I have a Unison slide 8 pan which is about 8 or 9 years old and still cooks great, but it is beginning to lose bits of itself into the food as non-stick does over time. My new signature pan has four deep scratches on the non-stick surface. This thing is supposed to accept metal utensils, but we only make eggs in it. I don't expect miracles, but I don't brutalize my non-stick equipment. I don't know if this was a kid of quality foul up or not. The egg pan will see a lot more use than the 10. I have never owned a pan that was slippery. It's so slippery that emptying out the grease can be difficult since all the food tries to slide out when you tilt the pan. I use a baster to suck out grease. 2. Clean up is easy. The non-stick works. It's best to let it soak for a couple of minutes and then let it dry out. 3. The glass lid is very good.
