👤I worked at a restaurant for the first time and I remember having a couple of deep pot lids on the grill. We used them to bake eggs, cover vegetables, and melt cheese. Also, note: Accepting this product's high rating could be dangerous. Many of the reviews are from people who didn't pay for the product. Amazon should stop doing this. There is an update. I added a star as I got used to it. As you use it more, you can get good results. It's a good idea to spray it with canola oil, but watch out for flare-ups.

👤Unless you intend to slow roast or smoke food for a long time over low-temp coals, I'd steer clear of the non-stick version of this wok. If used at normal grilling temperatures, it will cause food to peel off and ruin it, which can get up to 500 degrees with a properly laid bed of coals. A basket of veggies and the basket itself were ruined by the husband, who didn't read the description. Next time, we'll try the steel version so we can cook food in it. It's three stars because the temperature max was indicated, but it's such a ridiculous item to use on a grill that I have to change it.

The flatness of theJJMG is marginally more pronounced. The longest tool is the metal-bamboo tool. The others are between 13 and 14 inches. Helen Chen has a bamboo tool. The finish on the tools is variable. The bamboo handle is considered because the metal is very polished. The blade of the Bambei is not as finely polished as the top and handle are. The spoons are of a wood that is light in color and heavy in weight. Time will tell if the less dense version holds up. The Helen Chen bamboo spatula seems adequate for the chore use it will see, although it has the least-finished feel. I thought that curvature would be a significant consideration, but with these examples in front of me, it seems the twin considerations of material and width of the blade may have more to do with cooking performance. I am not sure if I will ever use carbon steel in my cooking because I am using a T-Fal Jumbo 14" non-stick wok, which works great, and I am learning the ropes of Chinese/Asian cooking. I wanted a long wooden or plastic wok spatula to protect it. These spatulas were a great value and had good reviews. The thin leading edge of the wooden utensil makes it good for getting under stuff. The front is wide and curved, which makes it good for stir fry. I like how they perform and have used them several times. I do a tip with all unfinished wooden utensils. Mineral oil is dirt cheap and is used to treat them to reduce absorption of moisture. Allow it to soak in for a while, then wipe it off as much as possible, and let them sit for several hours or overnight to absorb and dry. Next day, do it again. They get quite dry after several hours of drying. The surface should not get oil on your hands from touching it. When the oil is starting to wash out, repeat every few uses. It only takes a few seconds, and it seems to help. It makes the surfaces easier to clean. Mineral oil is safe to eat and won't get rancid. These utensils are sturdy, but they are not going to last forever. The nice thin leading edge should last a long time, but with intelligent use. I will buy more of these when they are no longer needed.
