👤It has a nice weight and does the job. However. After washing, the groves on the back are hard to dry. When you try to dry it off, it stays in the corners. There is a lot of rust in those channels after a few days of use. The groves on the back of my house are a pain to dry off, but they are what keep the water in it. It's not a deal breaker as the surface rust is on the back of the car where it's not being used. It will be difficult to remove the rust when trying to reseason because the channels are so narrow.
👤I was surprised by the quality. Lodge cast iron is what I usually stick to. Between good reviews and a great price point, I decided to take a chance. I'm glad I did. It is large enough to handle most steaks, but not large enough to handle most steaks. My husband likes the Jim Beam logo. He said that it makes it a manly tool. That's right! The Jim Beam steam cover was also purchased by me. It's a great set.
👤I now know why I couldn't find one of these at a second hand store.
👤I'm a big fan of CI. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this. I bought it at the store. Prepared and ready to go. I gave this to my guy because he asked for a few smaller things instead of a large gift. It's safe on the outdoor gas grill with the coil handle. The hamburgers will be great this summer. I will purchase another for myself if I didn't buy 2 at the price.
👤A lot of the others at the same price point looked cheap, but this is actually a quality piece of metal and iron. Don't forget to dry it before it's well seasoned or you'll be stuck trying to get the rust out from the grooves on top.
👤Excellent! It looks great and is perfect for its purpose. If I could cook as well as this works, I would knock them off the air. You need 1 of these if you own a flat top griddle. It makes all meals taste better.
👤It is very well made, but you have to watch for rust. Keep cooking oil in a container. I would buy it again.
👤I like this grill press the most because the handle is not wooden. It works well. I don't wash it with soap or water because it is cast iron and I let the grill cook everything off.
👤I love this press. The cast iron is heavy. I love the size of it and the quality of it. It works well in my cast iron frying pans, on the BBQ, and on the campsite fire pit. There is a I have heard other people complain that the top was getting rusty after washing. It's "Cast Iron" people. If you're going to get it wet, you have to sit it on an element and dry it out completely or it will rust. I give this purchase 5 stars.

👤The item is almost 3 pounds. The 2 star rating is to alert people to the issues. The 2 hold down screws for the handle were barely screwed in and the handle was not connected to the plate. The spacing of the screw holes on the handle did not match the width of the mounting holes on the plate. I had to bend the handle end to make the screw hold width wider. There is a The handle mounting holes were the same width as the female mounting holes in the plate. I have a grill weight that works. I plan to use this in the kitchen and BBQ. If you plan to use the BBQ, you should not have a wooden handle.
👤I will probably replace it sooner than later because I wouldn't purchase this again. The rust gets trapped in the ridges on the back when you wash it. The rust is hard to get out of the ridges, so oiling it is impossible. I wish I had thought of that before I spent the money.
👤I like the product very much. The bottom has ridges that make it hard to clean. A flat surface is what I would prefer. I would recommend it.
👤I like the size because it fits a frying pan. It can't be left to air dry. It takes too much work to towel dry the ridges on the handle side.
👤It's perfect for outdoor grill use. It's easy to clean and cool to the touch handle. I use it to cook bacon on a stove top pan.
👤My BBQ press did what it was supposed to do and kept my food from curling up. It was a real problem to wash and dry it. My press got rusty because there was no cleaning instruction.
👤It came with two screws that hold the handle in place. The handle is chrome plated and the video claims it is shirless. It's difficult to remove the rust. Made in China. It shows.
👤Cooks great meat. It is easy to clean. After cleaning, dry well to prevent rust and oil.
A heavy duty meat press is great for bacon beef burgers poultry flatbreads grilled sandwiches and more. HIC Kitchen has a Cast Iron bacon press that flattens bacon to prevent it from curling and shrinking. Made from cast iron with a wooden handle; distributes heat evenly; and preheats for faster cooking time. It's easy to season before use; wash and dry thoroughly, coat the pan, and press lightly with cooking oil, heat the pan on low for 20 minutes. When making cheese, thick yogurt, and more, press out the whey when making it. It is easy to use and clean; wash your hands with warm soapy water.
👤I like it and dislike it. I used to use it for a while now. I like it with bacon. It allows it to cook quickly and evenly. I use it with my cast iron skillet and other things. I use it more than I thought. I didn't know that I would like such a thing as much as I do. I go to clean it. It is impossible. They should have put the pig on the top. There is a picture. You can not clean, dry, or season it. I will either throw it away or return it and get a flat bottom one. I forgot to mention it. It rusts because you can't really clean it and season it. The rust transfers to your food. You can't remove the rust because of the pig relief.
👤It should have been a year ago that bacon, sausage, burgers, chicken, all cooks faster and more evenly. I recommend wrapping it in heavy duty foil or placing foil between it and what you're cooking to make it easier to clean. Don't let air dry, rinse and wipe dry if it cools down.
👤Does a great job. It is unseasoned cast iron and needs to be seasoned. There are two ways to do this. Put some oil in the pan with the press and put some oil on the top as well. For an hour or more, heat medium-low. You can remove the wooden handle and put it in the oven. If you wash it after use, make sure you dry it and recoat it with oil. Canola Oil is what I use. It's good for high temperature and natural flavor. I use an aluminum pie pan and a paper plate on top of it to keep the press from rusting.
👤My husband said to be careful what you wish for, "We should have a bacon press". He got a press with a country-pig theme. I don't have rectangular fry pans. This is quite a conversation piece. The pig is cute. Nice price too.
👤At 1 lbs. 8oz. It's not heavy enough for a good smashburger. The quality is not good. I'll probably take the handle off and burn it off on the grill because there's some sort of wax or plastic stuck on one corner. The edges are not square and had little attention to finish. The handle is not centered, but it works well. The design of the pig complicates cleaning. I paid $6.29 for it, so I suppose that's reasonable. It is an easy pass at $12.
👤I was surprised that it was better than I expected. crinkled up bacon is not something I like. This fit bacon strips perfectly. It's great to place burgers on top of cooking. The burgers stay juicer if you put this on them. I leave it on the other burger for about 3 minutes. My husband thought it was a kitchen item. I did the kitchen look like the county kitchen. There is a When I clean it, I let the metal part sit in the soapy water. You don't want the wood handle in the water. I put it in the water on top of something to let it soak up some of the water. The wood doesn't warp. This is a great price and I was very pleased with the item. I looked at a similar one at Kohl's. On sale? There is a Businesses say that Amazon is putting them out of business. I also like to buy local. You're paying double and triple for items. I've noticed that they don't do 40% off one item anymore. Just pointing out the comparison.
Green and toxic free, ideal for health cooking. Michelangelo frying pans are non-stick. The Thinnest, Crispiest Burgers have an extra wide round design. SMOOTH is a surface that reduces sticking. The double scissor attachment has a superiorDurability. Burger Iron was designed in Nashville, Tennessee. The original Smashburger tool is perfect for Paleo and Keto Diets.
👤I don't write reviews so for me to get on here and take my time to give it one star should mean something. The cheap screws they use to screw into the wooden handle are not good. As soon as you push down to flatten a burger, it twists in your hand and you can't push it down. I took the screws out and put bigger ones in. The wood is cheap. As soon as they put pressure on it, they strip out again. It will be used as a paper weight.
👤I was a little concerned about the handle and the fact that it might loosen over time, but I was pleasantly surprised when I got the product. They must have paid attention to the complaints because it now has two screws on each side. It can't spin now. The coating on the handle can get slippery. If your hands are wet, it's fine. It has a nice weight on it.
👤I have been looking for this product. I have been making burgers at home with my spatula after being introduced to it. I don't like my spatula very much, it doesn't work well for smashing. I have been researching tools for smashing. I was hesitant to buy the Burger Iron because I thought it would be too small, but I realized that it should be large enough to make buns. It is very easy. The handle is placed correctly to apply force. It is dishwasher safe and has a smooth texture. It is difficult to smash the burger evenly with a spatula, and you have to apply a fair amount of force to get it thin enough. The location of the handle above the surface makes it easy to get the burger thin enough and uniform thickness. I thought I would have trouble with the burgers sticking because I forgot to buy paper. If I let my spatula get too hot on the grill, I have had this problem before. The burger iron was slid off to the side like it was mentioned in the reviews. I don't think I'll use parchment paper in the future. I doubled or tripled the size of the 2oz burgers I made, which was very similar to what you would get in a fast food restaurant. They were the best burgers I have ever made.
👤The steel body needs to be smooth over a few edges. The wooden handle has split on one side. There was a split on the handle. The split seems to be caused by how tight the screws were 888-609- They have to stick out so far. The wobbly hand seems to be caused by the screw issue. The handle could have been sanded to make it feel better. The handle will break at some point when applying pressure to create a smash burger due to the splitting of the handle.

👤New York Strips were not something my husband would buy because he hated how fat made them Curl. He would choose a harder cut to avoid having to slice the fat. There is a Since Christmas, he has cooked a few Strip Steaks and they have been great. When the weather is cold, he uses a grill pan with the weight in the unused area. He always says 'thanks for the gift, honey' when they start to curl. It has been a gift for both of us.
👤I want to make sure my steaks and burger patties cook evenly, so I have always tried a weight on them. There is a The weight is worth a lot. It doesn't take long for the meat to cook so evenly, and the best part is when you take the weight off, all the juices from the meat are visible on top. There is a It's wonderful, love it.
👤Great product! Excellent service! I've used a sandwich press before and it worked great. Can't wait to use bacon on that. I have to purchase another one for multiple days.
👤I already bought a lid that came with one of these, so I bought this to have a second press for my flat top grill. I wanted the second. I can do all 4 burgers when I cook for the misses. If you put them on the grill for a bit, they will get hot before you put them on the meet. If you want the food to stick for the first few times you use them, make sure to spray or oil them.
👤Wife is very happy with it. It's hard to imagine not having one.
👤It is difficult to clean. It is difficult to clean the groves. I only found a way to thoroughly clean it by sitting it on a hot grill or fire.
👤I thought the handle would be pinned, but I didn't expect to see the grooves on the bottom. Still using it.
👤Exactly what I was looking for. I wanted to buy it for burgers. There is a It is easy to clean in the dishwasher. I will be removing the wood handle until I get tired of it. I don't know if it's necessary.
A kitchen appliance for healthy cooking. Their extra- heavy bbq weight presses grease and fat out of your food, eliminating calories for you and your family. The burger smasher press is rustproof, easy to clean, and doesn't require labor-intensive maintenance as is the case with an iron grill press. The steak press weight has a wood handle that is comfortable to hold without scratching hands, thermal insulation for preventing hand burns, and an ultra-wide shape that increases the stress area for uniform distribution of pressure. The Burger Press Iron isdurable. Their plate is designed to last for a lifetime of delicious cooking and presses out extra oils/fat from the food for healthy cooking. Steak weight press is an ideal gift for loved ones with a penchant for cooking, for all festive and non-festival occasions. The steak iron press has a customer satisfaction guarantee.
👤The grill press is not a thin piece of metal with a wooden handle. It is thick and has some weight to it. The press as a whole is very strong and the handle is very strong. The metal doesn't bend even when pressed down on burgers. I've used this grill press on my flattop grill, charcoal BBQ grill, propane BBQ grill, and even inside when on a frying pan. I've used this grill for a lot of things. I found that with this press, it helps keep meat flat but at the same time, gives it a nice crunch. After each use, I wash it in the sink. I washed and used this several times and it still shows no signs of wear and tear.
👤The handle is the major flaw. The product is not ideal when the hand grip spins as you apply pressure. It makes no sense that it wouldn't be a solid piece. You're not going to remove it for washing. What is the point? We understand the wood being a "cool to the touch" handle, but crappie little screws. You can do better.
👤The grill press is useful for making hot sandwiches.
👤I was looking for something that made great smash burgers.
👤The press worked out great because it was way heavier than I thought. It's the perfect size to make smash burgers with, but be aware of the overall size of the press compared to your skillet. If you only have a small skillet, you'd have to fry one burger at a time. It depends on the size of the skillet, but you can smash and fry about two or three burgers in it. It works great on the grill as well. I'm very happy with it because it has washed well and hasn't rusted. Would recommend anyone who wants to make a smash burger.
👤Exactly as pictured. It retains heat well because it's heavy metal. Couldn't of asked for better.
👤I like it! My grilled cheese sandwiches are coming out nicely. This is a great tool to learn the Maillard reaction. They are well made and affordable. I plan on buying more.
👤Very nice. It worked great when I used it to smash burgers on the outdoor griddle. The grip is comfortable. I like it.
👤It's great for smashed burgers. Also well made.
It is easy to use and clean; wash your hands with warm soapy water. It is possible to make cast iron for pressing out unwanted fats. Grill marks are produced by thick grooves. The handle is stay-cool for a safe grip. Cooks both sides of meat.
👤I was really looking forward to this. I got a bad impression when I opened the box. The packaging was slightly ripped and there was Rust on the side of it. As I opened the box, I saw this. I received it in the mail today. There is a gap between the handle and the iron and the screw on the same side is loose. The handle is not firm when you push it down. It looks like the cast iron is built well. I did not get a good item when I ordered it. I want to show the flaws in the photos. It seems to be a good cast iron. I am not looking forward to using it because of the issues that come out of the box.
👤I thought the handle was supposed to be stationary when I got the press. When I first picked it up, it swung and burned my arm. The manufacturer needs to work on this because I addedwashers to make the fit tight rather than returning it. Pictures of my arm were attached.
👤I don't really like it, but I should give it 5 stars. It does what it should and I like it a lot. The construction is the best I could find. There is a The handle doesn't get hot. The hole for the thermometer is a waste. I can't see people using it. It's a hole to let juices flow through and make a mess. I can't think of a situation where this hole would be valuable. There is a I'm not sure I like it, but it's not a big deal. Would prefer a flatter surface. There is a It's the right size, fits pans better than any of the rectangular ones I initially sought, and works really well without burning your hand. There is a I would buy it again if I lost it. It's the same thing. It's not a good thing It's not a good thing It's the same thing. Update is what it is. It's not a good thing It's not a good thing It's not a good thing The grid/grate on the bottom is more useful than first thought. If this were flat or smaller grids, the grease would run down onto the stove top when I took it out of the pan. This doesn't happen because of the ridges in the grate. There is a This is a big problem when reading other reviews. Not here. I was bumped from 4.5 to 4.0 stars. Plug the T hole and we'll have a full 5.0.
👤We used the brick for various cooking techniques before buying the iron press. We saw this press on a cooking show and thought it looked better and less Ghetto. This is the best grill press we have ever purchased. It was very well made and heavy duty. We use this for making sourdough bread sandwiches. The Press is less than 100 BU. The cast iron press is the best value we have tried. If we don't like press, we give it to someone else. I will buy for Christmas presents for this press, which is staying here.
The length is 9 1/2 inches and the width is 5 1/2 inches. High quality steel. The burger press is made of brushed STAINLESS STEEL. The round grip handle use laser welding technology, which will not become loose over time, and it can stay firm for a long time. Reducing cooking time is something that should be done. It's much easier to use a spatula than a griddle, and you can exert pressure to make food complete cooking faster, while adding a unique flavor, press out the grease for healthy cooking. A smooth bottom of the smashed burger press can help you get a burger of uniform thickness. It's easy to clean and dishwasher safe. The burger press can smash the burger patties and sear the bottom into a caramelized shell that seals in the juices. It's perfect for grilling outdoors. It's also good for grilling bacon, grilled cheese, and other items on a stove top pan. The burger smasher is a great gift for lovers of smashed burgers and grilling. A good kitchen tool.
👤Pot metal is cheap. Not impressed at all. It looks like it was cut with tin snips. The body is not completely round and the grinder marks are on the bottom. There are a lot of sharp edges. This piece of garbage is magnetic.
👤I have made Smash burgers 3 or 4 times. I would have liked something more restaurant use type. It is round and not rectangular. I am happy with the purchase. It is easy to toss in the dishwasher because the handle stays cool. I would recommend.
👤When I bought my griddle, I bought another burger press. It's a heavy press. I can't get a good smash on the burger because it has a lip around it. The unit is flat and does not have a lip. I can smash the burger as thin as I want. The whole reason for this press was that. I wanted something for thin patties. This has worked well so far. It is easy to clean. I haven't been able to verify it's longevity, so I gave it 4 stars. It seems pretty decent made. Looking forward to more smashing.
👤It works great, it's the perfect size and replicates a Freddy's burger. I haven't had a regular burger in about a month. Its very easy to clean, it's very stout, can take a lot of pressure without bending, but it's not going to fit in most drawers, and the handle can get very hot.
👤We wanted to make our burgers a little more crisp. This worked out the trick. It was easy to make them very flat. I don't think it's necessary to use paper between the meat and the press.
👤This is something that I love. Smashes a hamburger patty. The patty is large in a pan, but the trade-off is that it cooks faster. I oil the pan, heat it, drop a ball of ground-beef in, and then flatten it with the press and leave it. After a few minutes, the patty sticks but it falls off. I can flip it with a spatula. Can do 2 smaller patties at a time.
👤This works perfectly on our griddle, we bought this to flatten out burgers. It holds up to pressure and is well made. It's easy to clean up by putting in the dishwasher.
👤We like to cook burgers on the outdoor griddle. This is very easy to get a patty. I chose this one because it was large. It is not heavy like the cast iron presses and has a nice flat bottom. I did not want one with grooves. It seems very strong. It is easy to clean.
👤This is a great tool for making burgers. I recommend using a piece of paper between the patty and the smasher to keep it from sticking to the meat.
The Breakfast Kit makes cooking on a flat top griddle more efficient. If you want to be a real griddle master, you have to have that. The cooking area is 20 x 10. All cooking surfaces can be used. To the heart's content, cook, sear, bake, and stir fry. The cast iron grill/griddle was included. The item shape is rectangular.
👤I bought this for my husband. We used it for the first time and put it on the stove to warm it up. CRACK! It sounded like a shot was fired. I was worried that we had broken the glass stove top, but the griddle was not cracked. The lady at Lodge told us that it happens from time to time. We have been trying to get in touch with Lodge ever since. I sent pictures of the crack to them but they didn't reply. We were really excited to have this piece, and it's a shame because we love our other cast iron pans.
👤A cast iron pan is a must have for cooking. The Lodge LPGI3 is perfect for that. It's on top of my gas burner stove. The 20 inch griddle fits nicely on my burners, which are 17 inches across. It is my go to piece of cookware. It is large enough to sear several steaks at the same time. Eggs, pancakes, french toast, grilled cheese, bacon, stir fry, salmon, literally everything I have thrown at it has been cooked faster and with more flavor than a normal pan. Teflon cookware can damage the nonstick properties, but I can heat the griddle as hot as I like. The result is that food cooks quickly. You can often see that caramelized crust in restaurants. This pan can cook anything with ease. There is a seasoning is a must for any cast iron cookware. The first time I tried to cook some sunny side up eggs, I ended up with a burnt omelette that stuck to the pan, because Lodge claims the griddle is already pre-seasoned. Not good. I started my search on the internet for the best way to season a cast iron pan. I found the best way after a few failed attempts. Go to your local health foods store and buy a good organic flax seed oil. Make sure it is pure. It should be in a section that is cold. The only drying oil that is usable is flax oil. This means that the fat in the oil breaks down at high heat and forms a tough film that is non-stick. You can find a breakdown of cast-iron with flax seed oil on the internet. The oil should be squirted on one side of the pan. Next, take a paper towel and rub the pan. Spread the oil so that it forms a thin layer. Don't leave puddles of oil on the pan. If you were to turn it face down, no oil would come down. It's important that you don't drown the pan in oil. The seasoning layer will turn sticky if you do that. On the other side, repeat this procedure as well. Taking care not to use too much oil. There is a The oven needs to be heated to 400 degrees. Leave your cast iron pan in for an hour. The process of forming the hard coat is rushed if you go over 400 degrees because the oil begins to smoke too quickly. The oil is burning into smoke and may irritate your eyes and lungs if you open your windows and turn on the fan. After an hour, turn off your stove and let the pan cool down. If you want the desired coat, you must repeat the steps four or more times. The pan will get shinier and smoother as time goes on. I seasoned the pan several times and was able to cook anything without sticking. Eggs were easy to find. The coat becomes better as you use your pan more. There is a Food will stick if your pan is not seasoned. The above method is easy to use for cleaning your pan. A paper towel, coarse salt, and water are all that is needed. Lodge has plastic cast iron scrubbers that work well. If you feel you need a more thorough cleaning, you can use a sponge with soap. Remove the food and rinse it with water. A cast iron pan will not lose its coat with soap. I always preheat my pan before I cook, which kills anybacteria on the pan, even if I just scrub and rinse with water. It is advisable to dry your pan as cast iron rusts quickly. There is a This pan is large, heavy and wonderful to cook in. People looking for a small pan look elsewhere. For those looking for a heavy cast iron pan that will last for decades, look no further.
The measures are 8.75" x 8.75" x 3.25" The best bacon can make it hard to cook evenly. The bacon is flattened by the Cast Iron Grill Press. The wooden handle is cool to the touch. It's ideal for bacon, ham, grilled sandwiches, hamburgers and quesadillas. Use as a steak weight. In a skillet on the stove top. Instructions for seasoning, cleaning and storage are included.
👤I've been a fan of cast iron pan for a long time but never owned a bacon press. What was I thinking? This unit is great. I seasoned it with a thin layer of FLAX seed oil because it had a few thin spots. The handle has been removed. For 90 minutes in the oven. Do it again. It's perfect. I can't believe it works for all meat. It reduces the amount of splatter. It fits all three of my standard No. 8 cast iron frying pans. The round pan has a round press. Sturdy construction. The press is heavy duty. Nice handle. Fast shipping. Highly recommended. It still works like a champ. After use, I wash it with hot water, scrub it up, and dry it on the stove. There is not a spot of rust. It's perfect in my standard No. 8 frying pans and my new Lodge square griddle pan. The people with rust do not follow basic cast iron care.
👤I like this press. It's light and nice. The wood handle is not hot. One thing caught me by surprise but shouldn't have. I own a cast iron frying pan. I pre-warm it. When I tried the press for the first time, I put it in the pan and pre-heated it. The burger was cooked on both sides. I let the other side cook for a minute, but it cut cooking time off. There is a I wasn't expecting that, but using the press eliminates spatter. I was considering getting a screen or splatter guard, but now I think I'll hold off on that. There is a The press can't be used for burgers. I haven't tried it with bacon yet, but I'm looking forward to it. I would buy it again.
👤See my pictures and instructional video on cast iron... I haven't used it yet, but I received it. If you treat cast iron well, it will treat you well. I am going to use the beacon press. When I got it, I didn't think it was right for me to use, until I made some adjustments. It had a finish coating on the iron. I decided to remove it and re-season it. It looks like cast iron. I built a new one from a dead branch because the handle wasn't strong enough. This is exactly what I wanted, and it is now very personal because of the easy custom work.
