👤If anyone was wondering, I wanted to post this review. The blue is great for Goya Empanadas discs. I sealed it to see if it worked out. It worked well and will get the job done. When pressing empanadas, use flour and press hard to seal it tight.
👤There are three graduated sizes of dough presses. They are 4, 5 and 6 inches in diameter. I use the largest one, with a 6-inch diameter, but the smaller ones work well for what I am making. I can not put as much filling into the smaller ones. The biggest one holds about 3 ounces of filling. These dough presses are a quick and easy way to crimp the edges of pastries such as Russian piroshki, Spanish/Portuguese empanada, a fruit-filled hand pie, and Middle Eastern and Southeast Asian samosa. There is a The first steps for each of the pastries are the same. You can either make dough from scratch, or you can purchase frozen rolls or pies. You can either roll out the dough and cut it to the size you want, or you can press it into a flat, round shape. I make my own dough using a flatbread recipe for all of the pastries except the empanadas. I make the dough with masa harina. I haven't gotten around to using chickpea flour for samosas yet. I have tried rolling out the dough and cutting it with a dough cutter that I own. I carefully detach the edges of the dough from the press so that the two sides don't get pulled apart. When the press is open at a 45 degree angle, I gently push the center of the dough out of the opening where the press hinge is. When the press is fully open, you don't want your dough stuck inside the crack. I wash dough presses. They are made of sturdy plastic, but to me it isn't worth taking the chance on them getting broken due to their being banged around and exposed to excessive heat in the dishwasher. It felt like an elaborate meal with little time invested, and my kitchen was not a disaster after cooking all of that. I only had a few plates and a couple of bowls that I'd used instead of pots and pans and baking dishes that were piled up on my counter with a greasy stove to clean.
